In SC, we partnered with the Texas Suicide Prevention Collaborative to bring their AS+K About Suicide to Save a Life to SC. It's a gatekeeper training. We also had them translate this into Spanish and have trained Spanish speaking trainers. We have trained those who are able to train using Sign Language in several of our gatekeeper trainings. We are working on doing more.

For the LivingWorks Faith program, anyone can go through the training. We recognize that suicide prevention advocates in congregations are extremely influential and supportive of leadership in supporting prevention efforts

Thank you so much. I come from a country with two psychiatrists, two Clinical Psychologists and 19 Mental Health Nurses for seven million people. Furthermore, only four nurses are trained to work with children with mental health issues. Therefore, this faith-based approach is priceless.

@Stephen- I know this is an area where more work needs to be done. I'd recommend searching on the sprc.org website to see if you can find more information based on your needs.

I am not sure of any treatment specifically for intellectual / autism, because I deal more in intervention training. But I have a colleague that specializes in suicide prevention treatment. Please email and I will find something for you. glen.bloomstrom@livingworks.net
